Forums to be taken Offline

JULY 23rd EDIT:

Continental had a $99 round trip ticket pop up over the weekend. When these specials happen I either head to Tulsa or have family come down to visit. My sister wanted to come down so I spent the weekend visiting junk shops and garage sales and didn’t have a change to work on the site.

NEW ETA will be sometime this week as time permits.

I’m going to be taking the current forum system offline on Saturday.

I’m very excited about a couple of developments which are in the works for the unofficial Stablewood Farms H.O.A. website. At long last, we might be close to the point where this website can be able to serve in a “semi-official” unofficial status.

The primary concern that needs to be fixed prior to this happening is to make the forums available only to verified community residents.

There are all sorts of technical things which I won’t bother you with (unless you ask), but the important bit is that the forums in their current form will be deleted on Saturday (21 July). At that point I’m going to perform a major upgrade to the entire site as well as install and integrate a separate forum system.

The new forum system will be run off of a program called BBPress which was designed by the creators of software which runs the rest of the site. It offers many more functions and advantages than our current system most importantly it is being actively maintained AND will allow me to limit the availability based upon a users login information.

If you have any content which you want transfered to the new forum please take the time to copy that information to your home computer. Once the new system is installed and running you’ll be able to then copy it back into the site.

Once again, I am very excited about what’s in store. This is a good thing. A really good thing.

Spur Canyon needs a Block Captain!

To fulfill this duty, you would be responsible for passing out provided Stablewood Farms related fliers and/or newsletters on your street about every 2 - 3 months.  Once a year, you would doublecheck with residents to see if they wish to be part of the 2007 Emergency Phone Tree Directory and update names and phone numbers, if applicable.

These two duties would only take minutes of your time and you would play a key part in helping our neighborhood being a better place to live.  If you are interested in this volunteer position, please E-mail the Crime Watch Chair (Kelley Wiginton) on the contact page.
